Politician and ACT Wazalendo party supporter, Nondo, is continuing to receive medical treatment after being severely injured.
Speaking about his situation, Nondo explained that he was living in fear and had no way of returning home due to the dangerous environment.
He said he was forced to seek safety by going to his office, where he was injured and subsequently taken to the hospital.
"I was in bad condition, I couldn't go home because I live alone, so my safety was in going to the office, and that is where I was brought to the hospital," Nondo explained, emphasizing the precarious situation he was in.
Close associates of Nondo have stated that he will continue to receive medical care in the hospital until specialists confirm that he is fit to return home and resume his activities.
His family and ACT Wazalendo supporters are hopeful for his swift recovery.
Meanwhile, ACT Wazalendo has reiterated its call for justice for all those allegedly abducted by Tanzanian authorities. Speaking to the press, Ruqayya Nassir, Deputy Secretary of the ACT Wazalendo Youth Wing, emphasized that the government must ensure the safe return of all those who have been abducted. Ruqayya further stressed the importance of ending human rights violations, asserting that these abduction incidents must come to an end.
"We want all those abducted by the police force to be returned safely, and these ongoing human rights violations must stop immediately," said Ruqayya Nassir, highlighting the importance of justice and the safety of citizens.
Ruqayya named several young activists who are still missing and believed to have been abducted.
These include Deusdedit Soka, Adinan Hussein Mbezi, Dioniz Kipanya, Mlay, Mbise, and many others.
She emphasized that their fate remains unknown, stating, "We want clear answers about the fate of our fellow youth and activists; including Deusdedit Soka, Adinan Hussein Mbezi, Dioniz Kipanya, Mlay, Mbise, and many others whose whereabouts remain unknown to this day."
The police have continued their investigation into the abduction of Nondo, releasing a statement yesterday confirming that they are working to identify those responsible and will take legal action once they have the necessary information.
The police assured that they are thoroughly investigating the matter to ensure justice is served.
As these abductions continue to raise significant concerns, citizens are urging for greater attention to human rights and security.
Close monitoring is needed to ensure that human rights are upheld and that Tanzanians can live in a safe and secure environment.
