NCAA Trains Tourism Stakeholders on Upgraded Safari Portal V2 System

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) has conducted a two-day training session, from May 29 to 30, 2025, aimed at equipping tourism stakeholders with knowledge and skills to use the newly improved Safari Portal V2 system. This enhanced platform replaces the older version of the Safari Portal and is set to officially launch on May 31, 2025.

Opening the training, Acting Manager for Tourism and Marketing Services at NCAA, Senior Conservation Officer Peter Makutian, emphasized the importance of preparing stakeholders for the transition to the new system.

"We have upgraded our tourism revenue collection system, which will come into effect from May 31, 2025. It is essential that our stakeholders understand the improvements and are able to migrate their data to the new system before the launch," said Makutian.

He explained that the system upgrade was driven by the need to keep pace with advancements in information and communication technologies, as well as to address feedback from key users of the system.

"The improvements were made in response to stakeholder recommendations and the evolving demands of digital transformation," he added.

"Our goal is to make service delivery more efficient and convenient for everyone working with the NCAA."

The training brought together a diverse group of participants from across the tourism value chain, including tour guides, tour company owners, tourism drivers, hotel operators, and other players in the sector.

Tourism stakeholders who attended the training welcomed the system upgrades, praising the NCAA for making the platform more user-friendly and time-efficient.

"This new system is a game changer. It makes payments and other processes much faster and easier when we are working with guests in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area," said one tour operator.

"We appreciate the leadership of NCAA for taking our suggestions seriously and creating a system that meets our operational needs," added another participant.

With the new Safari Portal V2 set to go live, NCAA hopes the changes will strengthen collaboration with stakeholders and improve the overall tourism experience within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
