Makonda Issues Stern Warning to Public Servants: "No Tolerance for Laziness or Negligence"
Arusha Regional Commissioner, Paul Makonda, has urged public servants to fulfill their duties and emphasized that he will not tolerate incompetence from any employee, regardless of their status.
"Arusha, you have welcomed me warmly, but soon we will part ways... you may have pleased me now, but soon we will part ways. I don't care who you are or how you obtained your position, whether through bribery, corruption, or witchcraft, but I will hold you accountable... everyone must be responsible in their roles."
"Don't think that just because someone was a spokesperson, they will come here and cool off. Some people think that now they have learned, but I have learned nothing except dealing with the lazy and the incompetent."
"For me, even if I were a regional commissioner for just one day, that would be enough, as long as one person knows that a man passed through here and worked... Long live President Samia!"
"So, everyone in their position, if you're a district commissioner, manage your district well; if you're a director, manage your council effectively; if you're a department head, handle your department properly... no room for excuses."
"My brother Mongella often thinks a lot because maybe someone is older or younger... but I don't have time... I told them at the beginning, we're late..." Makonda said.
Makonda made these remarks today during a meeting bringing together members of the Political Committee, leaders of various government institutions and departments within the Arusha Region.
