Kibo Palace Promises World-Class Hospitality for KARIBU-KILIFAIR 2025 Visitors

As the 10th edition of the prestigious KARIBU-KILIFAIR approaches, Kibo Palace Hotel has announced its readiness to deliver exceptional hospitality services to both international and local visitors attending the tourism expo in Arusha, Tanzania, from June 6–8, 2025.

Speaking during a press conference held on May 22, 2025, at Kibo Palace Hotel — the official host venue for the launch event — Executive Director Beatrice Laswai expressed the hotel’s full commitment to ensuring high-quality services throughout the expo period.

“We are fully prepared to offer excellent service this year. At the exhibition grounds, we will be located at booth T5. For those looking for accommodation, we offer a variety of options including our main hotel in Arusha, as well as apartments and villas in Moshi,” said Laswai.

She emphasized that visitors who may not find accommodation in Arusha can conveniently stay at the group’s modern apartments in Moshi.

“If you happen to miss accommodation in Arusha, we also have a newly opened apartment facility in Moshi, which we launched two years ago. It’s an ideal choice for guests looking for a quiet and comfortable stay,” she added.

Hashim Mohamed, Group Operations Director at Setway Investment Company Ltd and Kibo Palace Hotels, revealed that the company is expanding its hospitality portfolio with the construction of a new five-star hotel adjacent to the current Kibo Palace in Arusha.

“The architectural designs are complete, and construction will begin soon. The new hotel will feature executive rooms, large modern conference halls with a capacity of 400 to 500 people, smaller breakout rooms, a spa facility, and a children’s play area to cater to families,” said Mohamed.

He also noted that the company is upgrading Kibo Palace Livingstone, formerly known as Moshi Hotel, to provide luxury apartment services and meet five-star standards.

KARIBU-KILIFAIR is an annual tourism trade fair organized by KILIFAIR Promotions Ltd.

Dominic Shoo, Managing Director of KILIFAIR Promotions, told reporters that the 2025 edition will be the largest to date, expanding to a 40,000-square-meter venue at Magereza Grounds in Arusha.

“This year, we’ve introduced the ‘East African House’ under the East African Community (EAC), alongside a new regional campaign titled ‘Visit East Africa – Feel the Vibe.’ This initiative will boost joint tourism marketing across the region,” said Shoo.

Tom Kunkler, also Managing Director at KILIFAIR Promotions, added that more than 500 exhibitors from 13 countries, over 800 travel agents from more than 40 countries, and around 15,000 visitors are expected to attend.

“Our theme this year, ‘Where Business Meets Wildlife,’ reinforces Tanzania’s growing reputation as a top MICE destination — where meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions go hand in hand with unforgettable wildlife experiences,” said Kunkler.

The Government of Tanzania, under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has prioritized tourism as a key sector. The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Pindi H. Chana, has been actively promoting Tanzania’s tourist attractions globally. KARIBU-KILIFAIR is now officially recognized by the government as a strategic tourism marketing platform, alongside events like the “My Tanzania Roadshows” and Zanzibar’s “Z-Summit.”

Shoo concluded by thanking all supporters and institutions that made the event possible, including the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), TANAPA, NCAA, TAWA, TATO, and the Arusha Regional Commissioner, Paul Makonda.
