In addition to providing academic education, the Arusha Institute of Accountancy (IAA) also prepares its students to start their own businesses while still in school, enabling them to be self-employed and employ others upon graduation.
The management of IAA, through its Department of Business Management, has organized the Grand Entrepreneurship & Innovation Exhibition, held on campus. This event allows students to showcase their skills, talents, and business proposals.
Representing the Head of the Institute at the exhibition, Deputy Principal of Academics, Research, and Consultancy, Prof. Epaphra Manamba, stated that the Institute organizes these exhibitions to implement the National Education Policy. This initiative equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle the job market after graduation.
Prof. Manamba emphasized that the Institute ensures students meet the goals set by the Institute, parents, and the students themselves. He noted that the exhibitions affirm these goals through the practical displays by the students.
“As a student, ensure that innovation is a priority while you are in school. To have a successful entrepreneurial idea, you must identify gaps in the market and come up with something new,” said Prof. Manamba.
On her part, the Head of the Faculty of Business and Procurement Management at IAA, Dr. Grace Idinga, urged students to put into practice what they have learned through their courses and the exhibition. She emphasized that opportunities like these are costly to come by outside of the school environment.
Arusha City Business Officer, Mr. Dominick William, advised students to remain innovative, patient, passionate about their work, and committed to continuous learning to add value and thrive in the entrepreneurial sector.
The exhibition is expected to run for four days, from June 18 to June 21, 2024.
