Minister of Education, Professor Adolf Mkenda, has announced that the government will continue to enhance the infrastructure of technical colleges and vocational training to increase training opportunities. This includes the construction of 100 new technical secondary schools, with 26 of them set to admit students starting January 2025.
Additionally, Professor Mkenda stated that the construction of technical secondary schools will be prioritized in areas without vocational training colleges.
Furthermore, the Minister of Education noted that the government will continue the construction of 65 vocational training colleges, including 64 at the district level and one at the Songwe Regional level.
The government has also increased teaching and learning materials in 29 colleges that have completed construction and will continue to build additional infrastructure in vocational training colleges such as Ndolage-Muleba, Ileje, Newala, Ngorongoro, Gorowa-Babati, Urambo, Kasulu, Mabalanga-Kilindi, Nkasi, and Kanadi-Bariadi, to enable these colleges to meet basic training standards.
