ACCESS BANK SHINES AT KARIBU-KILIFAIR EXPO IN ARUSHA, PLEDGES TO BOOST TOURISM SECTOR

Access Bank Tanzania, is making a significant impact at the ongoing KARIBU-KILIFAIR international tourism exhibition in Arusha. The bank has called on citizens and stakeholders in the tourism sector to visit their pavilion to explore various financial services and tourism-related opportunities they offer.

Speaking to journalists in Arusha, Head of Personal Banking, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Joyce Malai, stated that the bank has consistently provided a range of services to the public, including vehicle loans specifically for tourism operators, aimed at strengthening the tourism industry in Tanzania.

"Access Bank offers various services including car loans for tourism stakeholders, with the aim of boosting the country's tourism sector," said Malai.

She highlighted that the bank operates branches in Arusha, Mwanza, Dar es Salaam, and Dodoma, and has a presence in 24 countries, 16 of which are in Africa.

"We serve everyone. We have dedicated units for personal banking, SMEs, and large businesses," Malai noted.

At their exhibition stand, visitors are given the opportunity to learn about the bank’s ongoing customer deposit campaign and other profitable services available for both individuals and business clients.

"For those attending this expo, we are located at Block M," she added.

Elaborating on the bank’s broader strategy, Malai stated:

"In Tanzania, we have branches in Arusha, Dodoma, Dar es Salaam, and Mwanza — six in total so far — alongside satellite offices that support government employees in every municipality, as well as agent banking services. Our ambition is to be among the top five to ten banks in the country."

Access Bank also continues to expand its footprint across Africa and beyond.

"We're currently in 16 African countries and will be adding Uganda by the end of the year. We are also present outside of Africa, in places such as the UK and Lebanon, and we're committed to serving Africans wherever they are — including in global trade," Malai said.

Meanwhile, Head of Access Bank Arusha Branch, Edna Kallape, said their participation in this year’s Karibu-Kilifair is focused on showcasing products tailored to support the tourism sector.

"Our number one tourism guide is the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan. So as a bank, we've brought in products that will add value to tourism stakeholders," said Kallape.

She explained that the bank offers vehicle financing specifically for tour operators, with brand-new vehicles delivered from suppliers within one to one and a half months.

"This helps strengthen the tourism value chain by easing the transportation of tourists to national parks," Kallape said.

In addition, the bank provides project financing for entrepreneurs looking to expand the hospitality infrastructure.

"We offer loans to build lodges, camps, and hotels, especially now during the tourism high season in June. We welcome stakeholders to visit our stand and learn more about these services," she added.

Kallape also introduced pre-paid cards for everyday consumers in Arusha, which can be used both locally and internationally. These cards are especially useful for frequent travelers and parents with children studying abroad.

"We have five currency cards — USD, EUR, GBP, Zari, and one for China — as well as the Tanzanian shilling card. These help users manage accommodation, insurance, and shopping expenses while abroad," she explained.

"Access Bank is your bank — a bank for everyone — because we are committed to serving all customer types," Kallape concluded.

Access Bank’s active involvement in Karibu-Kilifair underscores its dedication to supporting the national tourism agenda and empowering Tanzanians with innovative financial solutions that promote sustainable growth.
