President Samia Appoints Leaders in Various Sectors

 


President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has made several appointments to key leadership positions, as announced by Chief Secretary Ambassador Dr. Moses Kusiluka.


Dr. Leonard Douglas Akwilapo has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). A retired Permanent Secretary, Dr. Akwilapo will take over from Prof. Penina Mlama, who has completed her term.


Prof. Zacharia Babubu Mganilwa has been appointed Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Institute of Adult Education. Prof. Mganilwa, a Senior Lecturer at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), replaces Dr. Naomi Katunzi, whose term has come to an end.


Dr. Mwamini Madhebehi Tulli has been reappointed as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) for a second term, marking a continuation of her leadership at the institution.


Engineer Dr. Richard Joseph Masika has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of the National Irrigation Commission. He steps into the role previously held by Prof. Henry Mahoo, who has concluded his term.


Ambassador Salome Thaddaus Sijaona has been reappointed as Chairperson of the Council of Ardhi University (ARU), also serving a second term in this role.


Prof. Joseph Nicolao Otieno has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Council of Traditional and Alternative Medicine. A Senior Lecturer at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), Prof. Otieno succeeds Prof. Hamisi Malebo, who has completed his term.


Ms. Janet Reuben Lekashingo has been appointed Chairperson of the Mining Commission, moving from her previous role as a Commissioner at the Mining Commission. She takes over from Prof. Idris Kikula, whose term has concluded.


Ms. Asha Dachi Mbaruk has been named Chief Executive Officer of Tanzania Standard Newspapers (TSN), a role she had previously held in an acting capacity.


Ms. Mariam Salehe Mgaya has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TEITI). She had been serving in an acting capacity prior to this appointment.
