Participants in a workshop for Chairpersons and Chief Executives of Public Institutions and Organizations in Arusha have praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her vision and dedication to enhancing the performance of state-owned enterprises and facilitating their expansion beyond Tanzania's borders.
The praise was given during a special meeting focused on how public institutions can invest and conduct business outside Tanzania, organized by CRDB Bank, which shared its experiences as a Tanzanian institution operating internationally.
In an interview with journalists, Dr. Athumani Kiamia, CEO of DART, noted that the workshop provided valuable insights from CRDB’s international experience. He emphasized that such expansion opens broader business opportunities and strengthens the country’s economy.
“The involvement of institutions like CRDB in international investments is highly significant. It not only opens up new markets but also enhances local expertise and capital growth, leading to improved service provision in various regions.
This move bolsters our country's diplomatic standing. President Samia Suluhu Hassan deserves commendation for initiating this strategy that encourages state-owned enterprises to expand their reach,” Dr. Kiamia said.
In his presentation on the achievements and experiences of CRDB Bank’s international services, CEO Abdulmajid Nsekela highlighted that these investments have positively impacted Tanzania’s economy and supported economic development in the host countries. They have also facilitated cross-border business transactions for the private sector.
“We believe that the stakeholders present at this meeting are aligned with investment goals. Based on our extensive experience, we are committed to continued collaboration. Today’s session has provided clarity on our path forward, and we will keep supporting these efforts,” Nsekela added.
