Tourist Ship Brings Over 200 Visitors to Kilwa Island

Today, on April 24, 2024, the Tanzania Wildlife Authority (TAWA) welcomed a tourist ship, the "Silver Clouds," carrying approximately 230 visitors from diverse countries worldwide to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kilwa Island and Songo Mnara for tourism activities.

The tourists, hailing from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States, signify the global interest in experiencing the rich cultural, historical, and archaeological heritage of the park managed by TAWA.

This influx of tourists follows a recent surge in February 2024, where the park recorded over 900 foreign visitors, setting a new record for tourism activities.

Led by Takim Holidays Tour Company, the visitors were greeted with traditional Kilwa Island dances, known as "kitupolo," enhancing their experience during their stay.
