Tragic Accident Involving Simba Fans' Coaster En Route to Dar es Salaam
Two people have died and three others injured after a Coaster carrying Simba fans en route to Dar es Salaam to witness the quarter-final match of the African Champions League against Al Ahly collided with a cargo truck this morning, March 29, 2024, at Vigwaza Weighing Station in Chalinze District, Pwani Region.
The Police Commander of Pwani Region, Pius Lutumo, informed journalists that "At 12:00 noon today at Vigwaza Weighing Station, Chalinze District, Pwani Region, a passenger minibus with registration number T125 EAP, a Toyota Coaster, traveling from Mbeya to Dar es Salaam with Simba fans collided with a cargo truck with registration number T925 BXL, a Scania, towing trailer number T372 DXH, which was traveling from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuring three."
"The deceased are Oleison Mwakasila, estimated to be aged between 42-45, a resident of Kiwila in Mbeya Region, and the driver of the Coaster, Moses Mwaisela, aged between 40-43, a resident of Uyole. The injured are Debora Barton, known as Kajala (30), a farmer and resident of Tukuyu, Devotha Emmanuel (37), a resident of Tukuyu, and Elasto David (41), a farmer and resident of Tukuyu, Mbeya."
"The bodies of the deceased have been preserved at Msoga Hospital in Chalinze District, and the injured have been taken to the same hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is still under investigation."
