Majaliwa Invites Italian Investors, Emphasizes President's Commitment to Boost Local Industries

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has extended an invitation to Italian investors and business leaders to consider Tanzania as a prime destination for investing in various industries. He emphasized that Tanzania offers abundant raw materials and a stable market due to its strategic geographic location.

"The focus of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and the government's strategy is to encourage businesspeople who import various goods into Tanzania to invest in the local production of those goods, making them more readily available and abundant," he stated.

He made these remarks on Thursday, October 19, 2023, during the Third Business and Investment Forum between Tanzania and Italy, held at Palazzo Regione Lombardia in Milan, Italy. Prime Minister Majaliwa is representing President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan at the World Food Forum, which is taking place from October 16 to October 20, 2023, in Rome, Italy.

Mr. Majaliwa listed several areas where Italian investors can consider investing, including mining, agriculture, telecommunications, livestock, fisheries, tourism, and healthcare. He warmly welcomed entrepreneurs and investors to take advantage of these opportunities and invest in Tanzania.

Furthermore, he pointed out that besides offering an attractive investment environment, Tanzania also boasts numerous tourist attractions. He invited investors and businesspeople, as well as tourism companies and agents, to invest in the construction of tourist hotels in various cities, including Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Dodoma.

Mr. Majaliwa noted that the government is currently focusing on improving infrastructure, including the construction of a modern railway, roads, airports, and ensuring reliable energy supply to facilitate various economic activities, including investment.

On the other hand, Tanzania's Ambassador to Italy, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, assured all Italian investors and businesspeople of the cooperation and support they will receive when seeking to invest and conduct business in Tanzania.
