The Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Angellah Kairuki (MP), today March 20, 2024, inspected exhibition booths that will be used in the celebrations of World Forest Day and National Tree Planting Day scheduled for March 21, where the Guest of Honor at the climax is expected to be the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Philip Isdor Mpango.

During her visit to the booths at the Exhibition, Kairuki commended the Ministry as well as forest stakeholders who turned up to provide education on their respective roles, including conservation education, and showcasing various products derived from forests.

Kairuki took the opportunity to urge all residents of Same District in Kilimanjaro Region and neighboring regions to turn up in large numbers to visit the exhibition.

She noted that the exhibitions are important for them as they will be able to learn various issues including commercial beekeeping education and understanding various opportunities available in the value chain of forest products.

The climax of the World Forest Day and National Tree Planting Day celebrations is held annually on March 21, and this year, Tanzania is commemorating the event by tree planting and visiting exhibitions showcasing various forest and bee-derived products.
