The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, through its Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, has begun preparing a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation Guide. This guide will be utilized for tracking and assessing the policies, plans, programs, and projects implemented by the Ministry's departments, units, and institutions.
Speaking at the opening of a workshop for the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit officers and liaison officers from various departments and units, Ms. Bure Nassibu, Acting Director of the Unit, emphasized the Unit's critical role. She stated that the Unit's primary function is to monitor and evaluate the Ministry's policies, plans, programs, and projects to ensure that the set objectives are achieved in compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, procedures, timelines, plans, and budgets.
"The Unit has 11 key responsibilities, and our major task is to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Ministry's various duties to measure outcomes and efficiency," said Bure.
She further highlighted the importance of capacity building for the officers, stating that they will be trained to enhance their professionalism.
"For you to work effectively, you need to be equipped with the necessary skills. We are looking into ways to provide you with training to perform your duties efficiently," Bure added.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Unit is a crucial component of the Ministry and the government at large, ensuring that the performance within the Ministry and the government is of the highest quality.
