LG Electronics on Wednesday opened its first brand shop in Arusha, pledging to extend services to other major cities.
This is among efforts by the international brand aimed to give customers a unique opportunity to experience new technology and products.
The electronics giant with South Korean roots has partnered with the Arusha-based Benson and Company in the venture.
"This is the first brand shop in Arusha after opening three others in Dar es Salaam this year", said LG Electronics East Africa managing director Sa Nyoung Kim.
He said the firm was keen to expand its footprints in Tanzania by opening more sales outlets for a wide range electronic appliances.
Among the targeted cities for expansion are Dodoma, the fast-growing national seat and Mwanza. Three were opened in Dar es Salaam last week.
Mr. Kim said the company has enjoyed a "steady growth" in Tanzania in all segments" with customer preference to an assortment of electronic devices.
These, according to him, include a range of TV sets,refrigerators, microwave machines for cooking, washing machines and others.
The shop was opened along the busy Sokoine Road that cuts through the city from the Clock Tower roundabout to the airport.
"Arusha is an optimum location due to its expanding customer base, hence LG decided to open a new experience centre for our innovative products", he said
According to Mr.Kim, LG Electronics will this year open a few more stores and modernize 12 shops across LG East Africa "to meet rising customer needs".
Among the premium products being rolled out are those featuring core technology in household energy conservation.
Nadeem Hussein, the director of Benson and Company said the company was picked to partner with LG Electronics due to its record in electronics products.
The company with its famous shop for a range of electronics products, also along the Sokoine road, has been in operation in the last 41 years.
Under the new venture, it is now an authorized seller of LG products in the vast Arusha region where buyers are set to enjoy after-sales service.
He added that the technological gadgets on sale or being promoted include those which can be remotely controlled
LG Corporation, the fourth-largest chaebol in South Korea, and its global sales reached $55.91 billion in 2014.
It comprises four business units: home entertainment, mobile communications, home appliances and air solutions and vehicle components, among a host of others.
Since 2008, LG Electronics remains the world's fourth-largest LCD television manufacturer. The company has 128 operations worldwide, employing 83,000 people.
